Leadership And Its Impact On Conflict Resolution - 927 Words
ââ¬Å"Leadership is solving problemsâ⬠(Colin Powell). To better understand the function of leadership and its impact on conflict resolution, we must first define the various roles of leadership and leadership styles. The culture and goals of an organization determine which leadership style fits the organization best. Each leadership style brings its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The leadership styles autocratic, democratic, transformational, and laissez-faire will be defined in order to analyze the impact each style has on conflict resolution within the workplace. Leadership involves the approach by which people are influenced to make a direct contribution towards achieving a specific plan or goal. Leadership roles influence behavior, which positively assists in minimizing conflict in the workplace. The leadership roles consist of: Vision, create confidence, build morale and trust, and build the work environment. Once employees understand the vision of the organization s goals, policies, and plans it helps them feel connected to a larger picture; create confidence through communicating expectations and giving guidance to achieve goals effectively; build morale and trust through showing you care, recognizing the good in employees contributions, and work; build the work environment by engaging in meaningful dialogue, and actively listening to problems (Managementstudyguide.Com).
